= Introduction = groupandpasswd2tpl is intended for use when bringing an existing system under quattor control. It reads the contents of /etc/passwd, /etc/group, (and /etc/shadow if run with appropriate permissions) and uses the information from these files to generate a Pan template suitable for configuring all accounts found using quattor's ncm-accounts component. The Pan code is written to standard out, and should be redirected to a file. = Usage = groupandpasswd2tpl [-g group file] [-p passwd file] [-s shadow file] [-t template name]" The -g, -p, and -s options can be used to specify non-standard locations for the group, passwd, and shadow password files respectively. The -t option can be used to specify the template name embedded in the generated code. The default is "users/sysusersgroups" which will generate the line: template users/sysusersgroups; = Notes = If run as non-root, the generated template will probably not contain passwords, as it is not possible to read the shadow password file.
